  DIUCS v.2.1 Tracking System

The Injury and Unemployment Tracking System

DIUCS v.2.1

The web-based DoD Injury/Unemployment Compensation System (DIUCS v.2.1) has been in operation since February 26, 2001.  Please read Implementation Instructions.  After completing the instructions and applying for system access, the DIUCS v.2.1 Application may be accessed from the ICUC Division home page.

The Injury and Unemployment Compensation (ICUC) Tracking System allows DoD injury and unemployment compensation program managers to meet challenges by making vital case status and program information readily available. Reports, detailed case information, suspense date tracking, and form correspondence can now be automatically generated, saving both time and money. The centralized database consists of personnel and payroll data, DOL data for each separate injury claim, and individual unemployment claim information.

Examples of available case-specific injury compensation information include: case status, accepted medical condition, payments to medical providers, wage loss compensation payments, potential lifetime compensation costs, case management activity such as vocational rehabilitation, personnel data such as health and life insurance deductions and salary, and injury information such as nature or extent of injury. Examples of workload reports include costs by nature of injury, new cases created by month, pending follow-up actions, and quarterly costs.

Available unemployment compensation management functions include: tracking on-going claims, responding to form ES-931 (request for wage and separation information) from the States, obtaining claim costs and savings information, obtaining payroll information such as quarterly wages and severance pay for timely reporting to states, identifying employees simultaneously receiving unemployment and injury compensation benefits, flagging claims that should be contested, and verifying quarterly charges.

The ICUC System is an excellent tool for monitoring an entire workload or an individual claim. As a result, it provides a valuable management resource for controlling and reducing compensation costs.
